There are enough Neurons left: don't worry about infarction

Putamen - Wikipedia

Infarction or Ischaemic stroke refers to the same illness which is the result of a blood vessel getting completely covered by a blood clot making the brain suffer from no oxygen. When there is no blood supply to a certain area of the brain that area will be deprived of oxygen and will eventually be permanently be damaged.
Based on the place that’s been damaged certain disabilities will occur in the patient which will shock the patient and the family. It will please you to know that within the first week there will be a major recovery from what you see on the first day due to a few reasons.

Not only the actually damaged area but the areas around that damaged area of the brain also will stop functioning for a short while due to inflammatory reactions of the brain. This will fade away and in a couple of days, you will start seeing the lots of functions return back. The brain goes to a super recovery mode where there will be a big fit from the brain to recover as much as possible.

Mentally the patient has not accepted the fact that they are disabled

Other parts of the brain start taking over vital functions

One side of the brain will control the other side of the body, Meaning the Left side of body is controlled by right brain and the right side of the body is controlled by the left brain.

Left Brain
·         Paralysis on the right side of the body
Speech and language difficulties where slurring occurs
Slowness and a minor cautiousness has been induced in behavioral style
             Memory loss
Right Brain

·                  weakness on the left side of the body
·                 Vision is damaged
·                 Inquisitiveness is induced to behavioral style
·                 Memory loss

There is hope for everyone from a stoke disregarding your age and any illnesses you had previously. What matters is the willingness to go through this journey. The fight in you to recover.

The rumors says that a person never uses 100% of neurons in brain and that a typical person only uses 10-15% of the neurons to actually function. So if you believe this even if a part of the brain is dead due to an infarction within the healthy area, there are enough neurons left to take over the functions which was done by the area that was damaged because you were never using all the neurons in that damaged area as well. So there is tons of hope for recovery even if your MRI looks like half the pudding is messed.

Below are a few quick pointers to check.
  1.         Ensure prescribed medications are always taken and double-checked by two physicians always.
  2.         Improve patients domestic living area to make their life easier.
  3.         Ensure a healthy diet is given to the patient.
  4.          Buy a blood pressure monitor and daily monitor blood pressure levels
  5.         Encourage exercises and hire a physiotherapy as soon as possible
  6.         Find good exercises from YouTube and follow them along with prescribed exercises when patient is relaxed.
  7.          Be alarmed for dizziness or imbalance.
  8.         Raise your spirits by social interaction.
  9.          Retain their brain activities by playing games that help their recovery
  10.         Always keep Aspirin and clopidogrel tablets where ever-patient travels.

Above all if you are the person who takes care of the patient ensure to keep track of your personal life. Your health is important to and your family needs your attention too.
